Magnic Microlights are brake shoes with an integrated dynamo bike light. The non-contact rim dynamos, which work on the basis of eddy currents, work without additional components and can be mounted on aluminum bicycle rims. There is no need for batteries, fault-prone cables or additional brackets. Twenty companies have registered for the Bike Valley Innovation Award. This award recognizes new, innovative products and services in the bicycle industry. The jury assesses the innovative value and potential for the market based on the design, creativity and even the business model of the participating companies. In this edition, the jury particularly appreciated the so-called smart bike applications, which provide more intelligence by attaching sensors to the bike. The winner was Magnic Light, which received the award from Eddy Merckx. The company developed a non-contact dynamo system to power a corresponding front and rear light.

The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council. The title Special Mention is awarded to works whose design shows particularly successful aspects or solutions - an award that honors the commitment of companies and designers. 

The focus is on innovative products and the brand behind them. The best applicants are honored annually by an international jury.
